Meet the Wellness Center Staff

Emily Stochel, MD

Dr. Emily Stochel is triple board certified in family, sports and lifestyle medicine and is an Assistant Clinical Professor for Marian University Osteopathic School of Medicine. She is a native of Zionsville and after four years in New Orleans at Tulane University, she came home to go to medical school at Indiana University School of Medicine. She completed her family medicine residency at St. Vincent, then spent an additional year in a sports medicine fellowship at St. Vincent Sports Performance.  

Outside of medicine, she loves to travel, exercise, read, and spend time with her husband and two sons.

Audrey Wehr, MD

Audrey Wehr, MD is a native of West Lafayette, IN and earned her medical degree from Indiana University in 2007.  Dr. Wehr is board certified in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, and is also a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American College of Physicians. She takes special interest in preventative care, obesity management, behavioral health and diabetes care management. Dr. Wehr strives to provide knowledge and compassionate care to her patients.

Outside of the office, Dr. Wehr enjoys spending time with her husband and her three boys. She looks forward to serving the employees and families of the Heritage Group.

April Stephens, RN

April is an Indianapolis native who graduated in 2006 from Marian University’s Registered Nurse Program. Her nursing background includes internal medicine, pediatrics, hemo and peritoneal dialysis.

 She has been married for over 20 years and has two children. April enjoys spending time with her family, her church, and planning vacations.

Amy Ficklin, LPN

Amy grew up in Indianapolis, graduated from Ivy Tech Community College with her LPN.  She has 15 years experience as a nurse in a variety of settings including long-term care, cardiology, urology and endocrinology to name a few.

Amy enjoys spending time with her husband, Jonathan, friends and family.  She enjoys traveling with her husband, working out and trying new restaurants around Indianapolis.

Sheena Hall, LPN

Sheena comes from a large family and grew up in Roachdale, Indiana. She graduated from MedTech College with her Licensed Practical Nursing degree. Sheena has nine years of experience in nursing. She has worked in long term care, rehab to home, adolescent medicine and gender health.

Sheena is a wife and mother of four boys. Each year, Sheena and her husband find new places to have a weekend getaway, where they experience new restaurants and local shops while vacationing. Whether she’s out on their boat or cheering on her sons who are very active in sports, Sheena enjoys spending time with family and their dog, making the most of their time together and making lifelong memories.

Heather Burchall, Registered Dietitian

Heather holds a Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics from Western Illinois University in Macomb, IL and a Master’s degree in Nutrition and Wellness from Benedictine University in Lisle, IL. She is also a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist. Since becoming a Registered Dietitian, she has worked in numerous care settings, including primary and specialty physician practices. She has experience with many nutrition-related chronic diseases including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and obesity. Heather has a passion for whole person wellness and disease prevention, and helping others make sustainable lifestyle changes to achieve their nutrition goals. In her free time she enjoys staying active with her family and trying new recipes.

Jake Burton, BS, MS Exercise Science, Exercise Physiologist

Jake was born in Indianapolis and raised in Lebanon, Indiana. He earned both his Bachelors and Masters degrees from Indiana State University in Terre Haute. Jake has experience working with cardiac and pulmonary patients as well the general population. He helps Wellness Center patients with a customized exercise plan to improve their overall health, achieve their personal goals and obtain a better quality of life. He provides consultations, fitness testing, coaching and conditioning, education, and motivational support for individuals at all stages of their fitness journey as part of his custom plans. He also has experience teaching Silver Sneaker classes at the YMCA.

When not working with patients, Jake enjoys spending time with his family and keeping up with his three dogs. He also enjoys watching movies, swimming, working outside, and making coffee runs.

Laura Zdanys, Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Laura is originally from Michigan and has lived in Multiple States. She graduated high school in Harlingen, Texas and later moved to Winter Park, Florida. After graduating from the University of Central Florida she rose through the ranks to become an Operations Director at the University of Phoenix, Indianapolis Campus. After 6 years with the company and relocating to Indiana from Florida to open a new campus, she began attending Indiana University/Purdue University for a Master’s Degree in Social Work. This is when she began pursuing her second career as a mental health therapist. Laura is certified as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has worked for St. Vincent Stress Center since 2014 in various outpatient settings. Her expertise includes providing assessments, crisis intervention, individual counseling, mood disorders, anxiety disorders and relationship issues.

She enjoys gardening, traveling, art shows and spending time with her extended family.
